This month, Facebook followed through on its threat to take away support for a key feature used by Facebook Tab Manager for WordPress. The WordPress plugin is still useful for sharing super-special content or injecting basic app functionality like a signup form into Facebook. But the once popular marketing tactic of requiring that people Like your page before viewing the content has gone away.
Facebook Tab Manager can still be used to integrate WordPress content into a Facebook page and keep it up to date. In combination with WordPress plugins like contact forms and newsletter signup forms, you can also use it to inject application functionality into Facebook. You could even use it for something like a sweepstakes entry form — you just wouldn’t be able to require that someone like the page before they can access the form or see your super-special content.
